Scott Halverson, owner of Architrave Stone Carving, has been carving stone since the mid-1990’s
Scott studied art at the University of Minnesota in the 80’s, focusing primarily on drawing and painting, but was always intrigued by stone carving. As carving is akin to drawing in three dimensions, this background has served him well.
It wasn’t until he moved to Austin TX
that he was able to meet some stone carvers teaching at the Elisabet Ney Sculpture Conservatory.
After moving back to Minneapolis he met Jean Jacquet, a French carver whom he worked with until staring his own business in 2000.
Scott is currently principle stone carver and model maker at the MN State Capitol renovation.
